--EVERYBODY'S GOT A STORY--
MIKE: Yes, Amanda Marshall everyone. And this is new album, Everybody's Got A Story. Even me, actually. But I love this concept, now explain that will you? Everybody's Got A Story. How'd you come up with that?
AMANDA: You never know. You just never know about people! You never know who you're sitting next to on the bus, who you're sitting next to in history class
MIKE: Sometimes you don't want to know who you're sitting next to
AMANDA: Well, you know. Yeah! So anyways! (laughing)
MIKE: And it incorporates all of that
AMANDA: It does, yeah
MIKE: It's really more of your thought process, you put it down on page, and that's how you came up with the title
AMANDA: The record sounds like me. It sounds like the way I talk, the way I think, the way I look at the world, there's a lot of me invested in the album, and lyrically, it's all about that. I really wanted to make it as conversational as possible so that people could sort of embrace the spontaneity of the way the record was made, which they seem to be doing, so I'm really happy.
MIKE: Yeah, it's already a huge hit, it's being released in the US in 3 weeks (incorrect by the way)
AMANDA: It is, yup
MIKE: Which is going to be great. Now, you're also featured in this month's Flare
AMANDA: I am. That was fun
MIKE: Let's get a shot of that, we have a shot of you in Flare
AMANDA: Uh oh
MIKE: There it is, there's you in Flare. Now, I'll ask you the question I ask everyone who appears in Flare, did you get to keep the outfit?
AMANDA: Damn Skippy! It's all about the clothes, what are you kidding me?
MIKE: Yeah, beautiful little outfit there, and they approached you and wanted to do a fashion shoot as well, that's wonderful
AMANDA: They did, it was fun, it was lots of fun. That stuff's always cool. I'm a girl, you know
MIKE: They go to these events you know, the Flare Was There
AMANDA: Oh yeah
MIKE: Yeah they always turn away from me
AMANDA: The picture where you're like (closes eyes and makes a face). They always get you in some really awkward pose
MIKE: Yeah they always catch me in mid-blink
AMANDA: Yeah, exactly
MIKE: Yeah that one where I look like Frankenstein. That's how I feel about Flare. (laughs)Now the CD is released, and you're on tour as well. Now you're leaving on tour, where are you going
AMANDA: We're starting uh January 2002. We're going to be going across Canada, the US, Europe. We just finished, last night actually, three showcases, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa last night, which was huge fun. We got to play in these big clubs, and it was all sweaty, and people dancing, and standing up, which is amazing, because I've kind of become accustomed to playing in theatres where people are sitting. So it was huge fun, to have like, kids coming out and jumping up and down, it was great
MIKE: Yeah, you want the sweaty people
AMANDA: You want the sweaty people, you like the sweaty people
MIKE: I want to thank you Amanda, it was a pleasure as always
AMANDA: Thank you
MIKE: And we'll have you back again and again. Amanda Marshall ladies and gentlemen!
